Happy Armenian Mother’s Day from the border to the Diaspora!
Make jingalov hats, not war.
While delivering aid, we are always greeted with gifts that display the deep gratitude and boundless generosity of our people. These women are always ready to share, regardless of how little they possess, a quality that is deeply embedded in traditional Armenian culture. Pictured is a woman from Syunik, Armenia, who joyfully shared with us some jingalov hats, a flatbread stuffed with various indigenous mountain herbs that is native to both Syunik and Artsakh. Breaking bread with our brothers and sisters at the border is a welcome opportunity to learn, exchange, and cultivate rich relationships that span generations and countries of origin.
