AFA Celebrates International Women’s Day

March 13, 2024

On International Women’s Day, March 8, All For Armenia organized a community dinner for the brave, hardworking, and resilient women of the border village of Kornidzor. The khorovatz meal was shared in AFA’s KorniTun community home and prepared with the help of local villagers. In attendance were AFA Vice President Alec Ohanian and CFO Simon Hassoian.

More than twenty people — men, women, and children spanning all generations — were present to celebrate the critical role that women have played and continue to play in Armenian society, and doubly so in a frontline village surrounded by the enemy.

On this joyous occasion, we were reminded of how important it is for everyone — men and women alike — to feel seen and valued and to have a sense of purpose within their community.

Our team gifted flowers to all the women in attendance as a token of gratitude and admiration for their selfless contributions to their families, village, and nation. Eloquent toasts were made to a prosperous Syunik and Armenia, to the blossoming of our border villages through infrastructural and educational investments such as KorniTun, and to the right of Armenians to live and prosper on their land, despite constant attempts by the enemy to devalue Armenian identity and faith.

It is a true honor and joy to be able to use KorniTun as it was truly intended: a community home and educational center, where villagers can gather to find community and encouragement — not only among themselves, but with compatriots and friends of Armenia from all around the world.
